Recycles - Do you recycle all of your recyclable paper, plastic, glass, aluminum, CFLs, electronics & batteries?
I live in the Iowa State dorms and we have a recycling room that I recycle all of the materials that I can.
Buys Recycled - Do you purchase and/or use post-consumer recycled waste products, whenever possible?
I can't say I look for it but I encourage the use of the products.
Transportation - Do you use public transit, carpool, drive a hybrid and/or use non-motorized transportation?
I am in college with no car so I use the bus and walk. Walk more then anything.
Reusable Bags - Do you use reusable bags when shopping to avoid unnecessary plastic bag and paper bag production and waste?
I reuse the bags that I get from the store for many purposes.
Hibernate Computers - Do you set your computer monitor(s) to hibernate after 5 minutes and your hard drives to shut down after 30 minutes without use. (National authority on this recommendation: U.S. Energy Star)
My computer goes to sleep after 10 minutes without use.
To prevent water waste, do you limit your showers to 3 minutes or less and turn off the faucet when brushing your teeth?
I don't cut my showers short but I do shut off the faucet.
Do you avoid purchasing plastic bottled water and use a reusable water container as often as possible?
I purchase plastic bottles and I reuse them sometimes.
Promotes Progress - Whenever possible, do you choose to support businesses and organizations that are transparent in their environmental actions and have published an eco-profile ... and have you sent requests to companies and organizations asking them to publish their eco-profile?
I have requested other people create an eco-profile
Giving - Do you donate and/or volunteer for social and/or environmental betterment organizations?
I sew dresses for women and children in Africa.
Lighting - Do you turn off lights when you leave the room?
